The Bottom Line:
Flashcards for memorizing sight words.
The Good:
- Complete, organized list of words – Word lists are sorted into five main categories (i.e., ABCs, 123s, Dolch Words, Fountas & Pinnell, and Fry), which are further sorted into subcategories. This thorough categorization makes it easy to select flash-card sets that are most appropriate for your children.
- Informative About page – The About page features a nice Metro design and a good description of sight words. The description also includes links to related resources, such as books and Wikipedia articles that supply users with a more comprehensive description of sight words.
- Metro-design implementation –This application follows Metro-design principles in a delightful way.
- No risk – Free trial available. The trial version is the same as the full version, only with ads included. Buying the full version removes the ads.
The Bad:
- Room for improvement: Favorite’s list– It would be nice if users could tag their favorite cards to create their own list. Customizable list could help users focus on words that are more difficult to memorize.
The Ugly:
- We could not find anything ugly about this delightful app. If you discover something new or something that could be improved with this app, please leave a comment and we will consider adding it to this post.
The Amazing:
- Great subcategories – Each main category of sight words is further divided into subcategories that greatly help parents select which set of flash cards to teach their children.
