Toy Xylophone is a wonderful app all year round, but its developer did such a great job including Christmas songs in the app’s extensive playlist that I could not help mentioning it here. This virtual xylophone can play by itself, highlighting the keys that play the notes of your favorite Christmas songs. Learn to play the xylophone by studying the order of the highlighted bars, or just sit back and listen to your favorite song. Children will love playing tunes with this adorable virtual toy. Holidays Slurpy

I recently discovered the educational Wimzoo games, and it was a pleasant surprise to find holiday versions of those in Holidays Slurpy. Little ones can greatly improve their critical thinking skills just by playing this app. Parents can guide their through all the exercises or turn up the volume so that kids can clearly hear and follow the audio instructions by themselves. WPGirl had such an amazing time testing this app, she actually paused playing after about 10 minutes said to me “Mommy I really like this app, we should write a review!” The Wimzoo games have definitely made it to my favorite-apps list, so watch out for their full reviews on Windows Phone Parent in the future.

Happy Xmas Game

Happy Xmas Game
Age Range: 9–99+ years old

This is a great arcade game with a nice Christmas twist. Here you play Santa Claus, and your challenge is to deliver gifts despite the presence of angry clouds creating storms and launching lightning bolts at you. On top of all that, you must keep the happiness bar full and avoid black smoke coming out of the chimneys you pass by. But don’t worry. As Santa, you get the magical ability to transform dangerous angry clouds into harmless happy clouds. I picked this game because I like how the developer transformed an old game concept into a creative, highly entertaining Christmas adventure. The uplifting music is also a very big plus.
